The Mazing Acres murals were created to attract a broader audience to a pumpkin patch near Yankton, SD. Previously a kid-focused destination, Mazing Acres expanded its offerings in the fall of 2022 to include activities for all ages. The murals serve as photo stations, encouraging visitors to share their experiences on social media as part of the patch’s marketing strategy. I started the project by sketching and brainstorming ideas, refining them into a solid design concept. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created a vector design with patterns, block colors, and precise color matching. After approval from the Mazing Acres marketing team, I prepped the surfaces by cleaning, priming, and using a grid system, projector, and chalk to transfer the design onto the surface. I hand-painted the murals and sealed them with an exterior varnish for durability.
